Noble County Jobs etc.
It has been a long time since we worked together to fill a job vacancy in Caldwell. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone.
Your professionalism and services are second to none. I provided you with the job description, job qualifications and necessary and desirable job skills; then you took over with amazing efficiency and professionalism.
You screened the candidates and presented me with five very high quality candiates. I indicated an insurance license was desirable, but not required and with only one exception all the candidates had license and prior insurance experience. The down side of your professional performance was to increase my decision making troubles by providing me with three equally high quality candidates.
You provided me with a comfortable professional setting to conduct the interviews. You scheduled the meetings so there was no down time and my time was used efficiently. After the interviews you followed up with candidates and communicated next steps.
You did everything necessary to make my experience very rewarding. I would recommend your organization to anyone looking for job applicants. I just wish I could use your services to fill all my job needs regardless of county.
I thank you for the most rewarding and enjoyable hiring experience I have had in 30+ years. I will have a need to fill an additional position in about six months and I am looking forward to working with you again.
Again, I thank you and please let me know if I can be of any help to you.

AEP Ohio
I have been dealing with Jobs etc., Washington County One Stop since the end of 2003 when we started to hire in the plant for the first time in 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised to find such an easy method of recruiting qualified candidates for the plant. The response time is almost instantaneously. The on-line system allows us to not only recruit from the local area but also throughout the state.
I have been so satisfied with working with them on my recruiting, I use their services on every job opening we have now.

Thanks for Believing in Me
I just want to say thanks to everybody at the JOBS etc. program for being so helpful every time I was in there and believe me, I was there a lot. I lost my job due to restructuring after 4 years and decided to move back home. I had thought my job was secure so I hadn't written a resume for a while so I needed help, and I found it. They provided everything I needed to make a professional looking resume. Even with a good resume it takes time to find a job so they kept encouraging me all the way. I would say that definitely helped me keep looking. I could've got depressed and given up, but they didn't let that happen.
After being persistent for about 7 months something came through. Misty knew of a job opening with a very particular employer but helped me get the interview because she saw my potential in filling this position. Ultimately I got the job because of the interview that I would not have gotten without her help. Now I have a great job with a great boss and hopefully I won't have to write any more resumes for a long while. If I do, I know there will be help available.

Dislocated Factory Worker Finds New Career
"I will always remember these words from one of my first instructors: 'It's not what happens to you in life, but how you react to what happens.'" Vanessa, a dislocated factory worker who is raising grandchildren and whose husband was laid off from work shortly after she was, was able to obtain grants through Morgan County to retrain. "We are very fortunate to have the community resources in place in our area that assists so many in obtaining their goals," Vanessa says.
After completing the program through the Workforce Development Center, she graduated from Zane State Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science; majoring in Occupational Therapy Assisting. "I feel so much more secure now and as if I am where I should be. God was carrying me through each quarter," she adds.
Vanessa was awarded financial aide through the WIA program to help cover her cost for tuition, books, and miscellaneous required cost such as hepatitis shots and licensing fees. She was also provided a travel allowance to help defer the cost of commuting to Zanesville each day.
Vanessa is now working at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehab in Beverly through the Home Nursing Group. She continues, "Each day is filled with love, laughter, and tears, as I work with the Residents at this facility. I can only hope I touch their lives as much as they have touched mine. I am so very grateful to the Job Etc. One Stop Center, and its employees, who went above and beyond their duties to ensure the success of each client served."

Financial Assistance Helps With New Career Training
"If it wasn't for staff at the Jobs etc. One Stop Center, I wouldn't have gone to school," said Jodie, a dislocated factory worker who came to the center for basic computer and internet classes. After some career guidance, Jodie decided retraining was the best option for her to get back out into the workforce. The staff at the center worked with her to complete financial aide forms. Through supportive services Jodi received help in covering the cost of a required physical and the hepatitis shots for her to be accepted into the Medical Assisting program at Zane State Community College.
Along the way to certification as a Medical Assistant, Jodie was awarded financial aide for tuition and books through the WIA Dislocated Worker Program. During this time as a student, Jodie gave birth to her third child. Jodie continues, "There were times after my baby was born that I thought about quitting, and center staff kept encouraging me to finish. I had gone too far at this point to quit."
After graduation Jodie is now employed as a Medical Assistant with PrimeCare. "With the skills that I have now," Jodie reports, "I feel secure in that if something should happen now, I would be able to find another job."

Training Helps Tracie Land Job She Loves
Tracie was a single mom with two children who worked at a low wage, full time job. "At first," Tracie says, "I was hesitant about asking for help. I felt that there were other people who were more in need of help than I was. To provide a better future for my children, I needed to make a career change. Someone told me to check with the Jobs etc. One Stop Center to see if I qualified for help. Everyone was wonderful."
Tracy was assured that the services were not for only those without a job but also for those who were what is called 'underemployed.' Tracie was enrolled to begin the nursing program at Washington State and needed help in covering college expenses. After completing the steps to be considered for training, Tracie was awarded financial aide through the WIA program to help with the cost of tuition, books, and other miscellaneous required fees. Tracie also received a weekly travel allowance while in school to help with the expense of a 40 mile commute to school each day.
Tracie adds, "Every time I came in to the office, everyone was very reassuring, upbeat, and encouraging. I felt that everyone cared about me and that I was not just part of the program. Even now when I see the center staff in the grocery store, they'll ask how I'm doing and seems really interested."
"Right now," continues Tracie, "I work for MHCPI/Marietta Memorial, a family practice in Belpre; and on-call for a pediatric group in Zanesville. I love my career! When I worked at the bank I earned a little above minimum wage and now I earning twice as much."

Program Helps Prepare for Future Employment
"I want everybody to read this so they will know what is going on," says Frank. "People see a flyer about the Jobs etc. One Stop Center with all the stuff you help with but people coming off the streets don't really know about [the full range of] the help."
Frank came to the center when he was 16-years-old. Program staff worked with Frank in exploring different career options and gave encouragement throughout his high school years. He became involved with the program where he earned several hours of volunteer time working on leadership projects in the community. Frank was able to job shadow professionals in fields of interest and was connected with employers for summer jobs where he earned money and learned about the world of work.
"You all are nice," Frank says. "I feel you guys really want to help, and there aren't a lot of people out there who do."
Frank's experience with the Workforce Development Center helped him to get a full time job at a nursing home after graduation from high school. His goal is to go on to college to become a Registered Nurse or a Paramedic.
Frank continues, "If I never knew about this program, I know I would not be where I am now. Whenever I need help or anything, you guys are just there to help."
